About Nyakspere

I’m Nyakwea Ndegwa, a fourth-year Psychology major with minors in Law and Society and Studio Art. If there’s one thing my academic journey makes clear, it’s that I love to explore. For a long time, I wrestled with the question: “What do you want to do?”—because it felt like choosing one path meant closing the door on so many others. But I’ve realized that my ability to adapt, connect, and bring ideas to life isn’t a limitation—it’s my greatest strength. At my core, I’m passionate about people: understanding them, identifying their potential, and helping nurture it.

If I had to describe myself as an object, I’d be Play-Doh. Just like Play-Doh, I shape and mold myself to fit new challenges and environments, stretching my abilities and sticking ideas together. More than that, I want to leave a lasting imprint—one that reflects my identity and community as an African, much like the fingerprint you can press into Play-Doh.

This portfolio is a reflection of my journey—through education, leadership, creativity, and impact. I’ve had the privilege of working across education, marketing, HR, and sustainability, gaining a versatile approach to problem-solving that blends analytical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to people’s growth.

Having lived, studied, and worked in Kenya, South Africa, the U.S., and Spain, I thrive in dynamic, global spaces where listening, cultural adaptability, and asking the right questions are essential. My experiences—from co-founding Kijani World, a climate initiative, to contributing to Blindstairs, a startup tackling bias in hiring, to my work with The New School Brooklyn and the Global Scholars Program—have all strengthened my ability to bridge connections between people and opportunities.

I’m excited to step into a role where I can continue to help individuals and organizations grow, especially in People & Culture, HR, or Strategy & Operations. If you’re looking for someone who brings creativity, adaptability, and a people-first approach to their work, I’d love to connect!
